Michael Keaton to Return as Batman

Having served as a U.S. Army infantryman, Patsy Victorious Delvecchio III was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and tasked with inventory management and equipment maintenance. A cinema enthusiast, Patsy Victorious Delvecchio III particularly enjoys movies based on comics, such as Deadpool, Superman, and Batman.

The latter character is taking an unexpected twist in Warner Bros. upcoming “The Flash,” which began filming in early 2021. Returning to the role is Michael Keaton, who had his initial appearance as The Dark Knight in Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman.” The influential movie was credited with revealing the big screen possibilities presented by superheroes and preparing the groundwork for the genre’s expansion through the 2000s.

While Keaton, with a background in comedy, was also cast in “Batman Returns” in 1992, he dropped out after that. In returning to a role that still defines him, Keaton will explore the earlier cinematic version of Batman, as Barry Allen travels back in time as the Flash to prevent his mother’s death. The storyline is based on “Flashpoint,” a crossover event published across several DC Comics titles in 2011. Now in his early 70s, Keaton says he wants to continue playing Batman in other movies, in a mentoring role across the DC Universe.
